Course Details

Modern Day Slavery training is designed to equip education professionals with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to identify, prevent, and respond to various forms of modern slavery affecting children and young people. Grounded in current UK legislation and safeguarding practices, the course offers a comprehensive understanding of this complex and often hidden issue, which disproportionately targets vulnerable individuals—particularly within school communities.

Modern slavery is a broad term encompassing a range of exploitative practices, including human trafficking, forced labour, domestic servitude, criminal exploitation, and sexual exploitation. These forms of abuse are often difficult to detect, making it crucial for educators and those working with children to be vigilant, informed, and proactive in their response.

Throughout the course, participants will explore the grooming tactics used to lure and trap young people into exploitative situations. They will gain a clear understanding of the signs and indicators that a child may be at risk or already involved in modern slavery. The training also covers how to act on concerns safely and appropriately, report suspected cases through the correct channels, and provide supportive, trauma-informed care to affected students.

Participants will learn about the safeguarding policies and multi-agency working strategies that play a vital role in protecting children. The course also highlights the importance of building awareness within the school community, fostering an environment where early intervention is possible, and exploitation can be effectively challenged and prevented.

This CPD-certified training is ideal for teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral staff, SENCOs, youth workers, residential childcare staff, and any professionals working with children and young people in an educational context. Whether you are looking to deepen your knowledge, stay compliant with safeguarding responsibilities, or better support students at risk, this course provides both the legal framework and the practical tools needed to act with confidence and care.
